Tigray Health Research Institute (THRI) and Mekelle University collaboratively establish a state-of-the-art Genomics and Bioinformatics Center. The proposed center will foster joint research efforts in the fields of genomics and bioinformatics, enhancing the region’s capacity for scientific discovery and innovation. The discussions were attended by higher officials and experts from both Institutions.
Dr. Fana Hagos, President of Mekelle University expressed that, “This is a great opportunity to bring together our expertise and resources. The establishment of the Genomics and Bioinformatics Center in Tigray will contribute significantly to advancing research in health sciences.”
Dr. Hailom Kahsay, Director General of Tigray Health Research Institute, also emphasized; “This is a great initiative that will provide critical support for research in genomics and bioinformatics. We are committed to ensure this center achieves excellence and makes meaningful contributions to scientific advancements,”.
