‎The DEEP International Project “Targeted Poverty Alleviation in Tigray: A Multidimensional Analysis Using Small Area Estimation and Hierarchical Bayesian Methods,” was officially launched today (07/29/2025) /at THRI.

Asuccessful workshop that brought together a wide range of regional and international stakeholders.
‎This landmark initiative is part of the DEEP (Data for Evidence to End Poverty) Grand Challenge Fund, led by Oxford Policy Management in collaboration with Cornell, Copenhagen, and Southampton Universities, and the World Bank, with funding from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).


‎The workshop actively engaged stakeholders from government bureaus, academic and research institutions, NGOs, UN agencies, along with researchers from THRI. Participants contributed to meaningful discussions on the project’s objectives, methodologies, and its vital role in shaping evidence-based, targeted poverty alleviation strategies for the Tigray region.
